The Absa Cape Epic,The world’s most televised and broadcasted Mountain Bike event, is a tough 8 day stage race hosted in the Western Cape.
Each year I am fortunate enough to visit the Cape Epic and each year you see some pretty spectacular things!
This year surprise and that moment of ‘wow’ comes from Team Buff-Scott. As a dark-horse, they surprised everyone when they podiumed on the first day after a incredibly quick Prologue around Table Mountain. They took 3rd after a sprint distance of 20km with 600m climbing!
After a relatively okay year last year where Buff-Scott placed somewhere in the top 20, no one expected this!
Through-out the competition, Buff-Scott made their presence known despite not claiming another podium until the 4th Stage.
What will 2019 hold for team Buff-Scott?
